Ram [the limbs of memory]: Digital Composition 2022no.21 is a sequence of image files developed from six stock photos into layers of patterned forms. The images are composed into two thematic statements and initially positioned in four noncongruent rectangular areas, two for each statement. These areas then interact and evolve into a colorful, highly detailed tracery design of the two thematic statements arrayed against a composite background of both together. The last nine images of the sequence form a visual epilogue that unites the major motif from each thematic statement. At all points, the layers, images and forms follow an underlying grid structure keyed to the overall format.
